If you’re visiting the UK to check out the queer scene, you’ll no doubt make a beeline for London. The capital is naturally packed with iconic LGBT events and historic places to visit. However, anyone who lives...
It could be said that this northern city encapsulates both the history and the future of queerness in the UK.

I couldn’t believe how beautiful this city is! It has retained so many of its gorgeous old buildings in the city centre that I spent my whole first trip there marvelling at them. Perhaps they were lucky enough to avoid heavy bombing in WWII; either way, it’s a super lovely place to walk around.
And this city is thriving! So much great stuff happening. It’s the UK’s third-largest city, and these people definitely know how to have fun. From rooftop bars to drag queen cabaret to chic cocktail bars, it would be hard to have a boring trip here.
